CHS Oktoberfest

Saturday we hosted our annual CHS Oktoberfest at our Downers Grove Campus for alumni and faculty from the Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology, and Biomedical Science Programs. This year, the event was more family-friendly, and about 40 alumni visited with their spouses and children. In addition to the traditional German fare, there was a large, air-filled dinosaur that the kids could climb into and bounce around to their heart's content. Of course, being a big kid, I coerced a few of my staff members to join me in the big dinosaur to test out our bouncing skills. At one point, I bounced myself into the corner and fell, and we thought the entire dinosaur was going to tip over. We were laughing so hard that we had to crawl out and hope that we hadn't caused too much embarrassment! We then moved on to the coloring contest, where Noah Fay, the two-year-old son of our Biomedical Sciences Program Director (Dr. Mike Fay) and the Director of Communications (Dana Fay), won a Halloween snow globe as a prize for his work of art.

The event also included a silent auction (I won four games of laser tag!). It was nice to see all the alumni come back, meet old friends, and catch up with their faculty. Plus, it was a beautiful fall day in the Midwest and a good time was had by all.
