MWU is pleased to announce that our new DVDs, "Views and Voices," have just been produced. Separate versions are available for each campus.

These DVDs have been developed for students interested in learning more about the University. The campus overviews describe our facilities, our programs, and our faculty. You will learn about the culture of our University and hear from some of our current students and alumni.

In addition to the overview, the DVDs feature profiles for each of our colleges and degree programs. These college/program-specific segments feature one recent alumnus or current student talking about their experiences at MWU. You'll see them "in action" at a work setting and hear them discuss the curriculum, the faculty, their fellow students, and how MWU prepared them for their profession.

If you are interested in getting your own copy, please check back on the web site later this week. We are adding this to our "Request for Information" form. Prehealth advisors who are members of the NAAHP will receive copies in our next "FAQs & PREREQs" newsletter mailing. We are also hoping to post clips of the college/program segments on our web site.

We hope these DVDs will give prospective students one more way to learn about MWU, see our campuses (which, I have to say, both look--and are--gorgeous), and hear from our own alumni and students.

I would like a copy of these DVDs. As this blog is over a month old and there is no new information regarding this, how may I go about getting one?

      Hello,
I was wondering if there is anywhere on your website that tells prospective students which classes are acceptable towards the requirements for admission? For example, admissions requires (among other things) that students have a minimum of 8 credit hours in Biology.
My question is which Biology classes satisfy this requirement? Would my Zoology 201 with lab work? What about Biology 160 which combines Anatomy and Physiology into one semester? They both are worth 4 credit hours and have a lab.
Same for the Physics. Are there specific classes or any class that worth 4 credits and contains a lab?
I'm trying to figure out which of my 160+ credit hours may help me get closer to meeting the requirements.

      Thanks,
      RJ

        Ron,
The basic guideline for prerequisite courses is that they need to be courses intended for science majors. We typically do not accept "survey" type courses or those designed for non-science majors. Truly my best advice is for you to contact one of our admissions counselors. They review thousands of applications and counsel hundreds of applicants, and they can probably tell you exactly which of your courses would satisfy our requirements.

For the Downers Grove Campus, the phone number for the Office of Admissions is 800/458-6253; email is AdmissIL@midwestern.edu. For the Glendale Campus, the phone number is 888/247-9277; email is AdmissAZ@midwestern.edu.

        Best of luck to you!
        Karen
